Drum (Uele District, Democratic Republic of the Congo)

This elongated single-headed drum originates from the Congo region and displays characteristic features of Central African drum-making. Its form shows similarities with drums associated with the Vili, Yombe, and neighbouring peoples of the Congo region, although its precise ethnic attribution remains uncertain. The instrument may possibly originate from the historic Uele District, but this provenance cannot be established with certainty.
