Senufo drum / Trommel / Tambour Ivory Coast - Elfenbeinküste

"Among the most skilfully crafted drums of the region is the cone-shaped tobinge of the Senufo, whose skin is secured by means of pegs.
Its body stands on four supporting legs and its exterior is decorated with zoomorphic relief carvings.
The drum is played at the ceremonies of the mask-societies."

Die tobinge wird bei Zeremonien des Poro- Bundes verwendet.
Der Korpus ist mit anthropo- und zoomorphen Schnitzereien verziert die in Beziehung zu Mythen der Senufo stehen.
