Yangoru Boiken "flute-playing" drum New Guinea( stone carved, pre-contact ).

The Yangoru Boiken people live in the southern slopes of the Prince Alexander Mountains in the East Sepik Province of Papuan New Guinea. Most villages have between 150 and 400 people. The main musical instruments were hand drums and flutes.

The hangwu drum is carried by rattan shoulder strap running through the two lugs on the drums body. While beaten the drum, the drummer plays at the same time a bamboo trumpet. (Similar to the australian didgeridoo)
Sie ist mit steinzeitlichen Werkzeugen hergestellt worden.
Die Trommel wurde an einem Band über die Schulter gehängt und mit einer Hand geschlagen.
Dazu wurde von dem gleichen Spieler eine dem Didgeridoo sehr ähnliche ca. 1 Meter lange "Bambustrompete" gespielt.
